Obituary of Jesse Rison

Jesse Rison Sr. , 84 of Brooklyn Park, MN went home to be with the Lord on March 1,2018. He loved the Lord and his family. He was funny and loving. Jesse Rison was born in Chatham, Virginia May 12, 1933, to James Rudolphus & Dollie Ann Rison. Jesse grew up playing baseball and was Northside High School's Class President as a sophomore and senior. Jesse also had many lead roles in the high school plays. Jesse was a veteran of the US Air Force (he loved the Air Force). Jesse served in Korea, Japan, and Germany. From Okinawa, Japan in 1955 Jesse transferred to Duluth Air Base where he met his wife, Sue and had four children: Jesse Jr. (Duncan) deceased, Michael deceased, Charlotte (Cookie), John, and step-son Charles Stalling. Jesse was called in the ministry as a teenager but ended up going into the service. Later, he was licensed to preach at Calvary Baptist Church in Duluth in 1966. Jesse studied at Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Nebraska then ordained at Community Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Jesse retired from Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems as a Senior Buyer, he was promoted and later became the lead negotiator, winning many Cost Savings awards. He enjoyed coaching baseball. He loved and cherished watching and playing golf with his son and those he loved. Jesse had the heart for missions and evangelism. But most of all, he had an intimate relationship with his Heavenly Father. Having a strong desire to receive the Gift of Holy Spirit, which he did with the evidence of speaking in tongues. He nestled his family in the flaps of his heart valves (close in his heart) and we loved him equally. In his last days, we called him General, and he called us his troops. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Rison; sons, Mike Rison & Jesse Rison Jr. “Duncan”. He is survived by his daughter, Cookie Rison & his son, John Rison (Julie),daughter-in-law, Carla Rison and step-son Charles Stalling (S.B). Five Grandchildren, Trevor Rison, Summers Rison , Keoni Rison, Marie Rison and Kael Rison.A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 8th at 4pm at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park with a visitation beginning at 3pm.
