Obituary of Lillian Reilly

Lillian "Lil" Reilly, 89, of Duluth, was united with her Lord on Friday March 2, 2018 while at the View Crest Health Center. She was born on July 17, 1928 to Ferdinand and Delia LaTraille in Leroy, North Dakota. Lillian married Daniel P. Reilly in Grafton, North Dakota on May 8, 1951. After his death she was a single mom for a time and later married James Esson. Lillian was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She touched all lives that knew her, had a wonderful sense of humor and made you feel you were her "favorite." Lillian made her home a welcoming place; always busy with children, family, and friends. She would feed everyone who entered and always had a pot of coffee on. She was employed at St. Luke's Hospital and later retired from Miller Dwan Environmental Services. Lillian had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, road trips, sewing, reading, cooking shows, and crafts. Preceded in death by her parents; husband and father of the Reilly clan, Daniel P. Reilly, brothers, Arthur, David, Larry, Roy and Sister Corrinna; sons, Robert and David; and granddaughter, Tina Marie. She is survived by seven children, Peter (Wendy), Patricia, Jim, Dan (Lynne), Lori (Cary) and Micky; her children's step father and ex-husband James Esson and their daughter, Shelly (Glen); sister, Margaret Styger; special daughter in law, Debbie Reilly; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family would like to thank St. Luke's Oncology Center, St. Luke's Hospice and the staff at View Crest for the excellent care of their beloved mother and grandmother. Visitation from 2:00 P.M. until the 2:30 Memorial Mass, Wednesday, March 14th at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 2430 W. 3rd St, Duluth.
