Obituary of Robert E. Olson

Robert E. Olson, 93, of Duluth, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Robert was born in Cloquet on Dec. 9, 1924 to John and Olga Olson. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He married Vera Anderson on Nov. 22, 1949. Robert was a 70 year member of Carpenters Local Union #361, working for Woodruff Lumber Co. until his retirement. Robert enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time at the cabin. He especially enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter, Madison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera; son, Robert John; brother, Kenneth John; and his parents. Robert is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" (Rod) Bodell; granddaughter, Madison Bodell; and special friends, Jan and Doug Swanson. A special thanks to Benedictine Health Care Center and St. Luke's Hospice.
