Obituary of Nancy E. Allen
Nancy Elizabeth Allen died at the age of 82 yrs, 11 1/2 months in Duluth.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1931 in Newark, N.J., the youngest of eight children, having six sisters and one brother.
On Sept 16, 1955 she married Willie C Allen. In 1966 they moved to Proctor with their son, Frederick. She made her home there for the next 39 years. In 2005, Nancy moved to Wesley Residence in Duluth and then later to St Eligius Health Center where she remained until her death.
While in her early 30s, she began to study the Bible and learned of the blessings that God's Kingdom will soon bring to the earth; on July 16, 1963 she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She spent much time sharing the good news with others in the years to follow.
She and her late husband were known for their generosity and hospitality, always giving a helping hand or making a meal with an invitation to "break bread " with them.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Bertha Miller; her son, Frederick; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also has her very large "extended" family who she quickly would introduce as "my brother" or "my sister".
All relatives and extended family would like to thank the staff at both Wesley Residence and St Eligius Health Center for their kind care of our dear friend and relative.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 4602 W. Arrowhead Rd, Duluth.
