Koch, Carol A. (Smythurst) Age 78 of St Louis Park. Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on 11/1, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by mother Ursula Smythurst and brother William. She is survived by siblings, Bernie Grundman (Claire), Paula Bartoo (Bill) and Kathy Malachai (Randy); sister-in-law, Sylvia Smythurst; children, Candace Kiebel (John), Wayne Koch, Terri Stoller (Stuart), Patty Sorensen (Bruce); grandchildren, Nicholas Koch (Missy), Bryan Koch (Tracey), Allison Spainhower (Mike), Andrea Luna (Chris), Jacob Sorensen, Isaac Sorensen and four great-grandchildren. Carol treasured her family and her faith. She was an avid golfer and loved all animals, especially horses and her cat, Kylie. Her courage and strength to overcome adversity, along with her unending kindness and generosity will always be remembered. A special thank you to Dr. Mark Wilkowske for his devoted care and all of her caregivers at Methodist Hospital. Funeral Mass Fri. 11/7 at 10 am with visitation at 9 am at Church of the Holy Family, 5900 W Lake St, St Louis Park, MN.
