Obituary of Paulette B. Thompson

THOMPSON, Paulette B., age 87, of Minneapolis, passed away November 14, 2014. She had a lifelong passion about many of the arts. She was an accomplished actress, singer, musician and writer. She was born in Switzerland and met her husband Lynn in Paris after World War II. Lynn brought his young bride back to Minneapolis in 1951 and they ventured into new business enterprises always involving their love of music. In 1953 they opened the Purple Goblet, which was known for its Tuesday night chamber music and weekend jazz bands. They sold the Purple Goblet and used the proceeds to open The Podium in Dinkytown a premier guitar, musical instrument and sheet music emporium for over five decades. She was a beloved and prominent lifelong resident of Dinkytown. Her family and many friends will celebrate her life at a memorial service to be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Walker Methodist for their loving care the past 7 years.
