Obituary of Evelyn B. Nelson

Nelson, Evelyn B. 91, Robbinsdale, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014. Preceded in death by her husband Leonard, son Rick, parents Elmer and Bertha Carlson, brother Harold (Howie) Carlson, and sister Mary Ellen Pitzl. She is survived by her children Don (Linda), Jim (Margie), Joni (Bruce) Larson, Sue (Scott) Hough and daughter-in-law Susan Nelson; grandchildren Carrie (Jason) Ek, Robert (Rachel) Nelson, Katie (Mike) Meyer, Beth (Mike) Ranc, Sarah Nelson (fiancé Brandon Bowden), Matt Nelson, Mike Nelson, David Nelson, Annie Larson, Peter Larson, Allison Hough (fiancé Jeff Davis), Erik Hough (fiancée Brandy Erickson); great-grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Ranc, Elizabeth and Anna Ek; sister Ruth (George) Pudas; sister-in-law Mary Lou Carlson, brother-in-law Ray Pitzl and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised by Swedish immigrant parents in Port Wing, Wisconsin. She lived her life in faithful service to the Lord. She cared for the ones she loved deeply and unconditionally and spent a lifetime teaching them, by example, how to do the same. Her kind and caring heart will live through her children, who meant everything to her, her grandchildren, who adored her endlessly, and those blessed to be her friends -- because, to her, friends were family and to be in her family is something truly special. We will remember her fondly, think of her often, and be better people for all the love she gave. She is with the angels now. Memorial Service Tuesday, November 18, at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at Mount Olivet Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Mpls (612) 926-7651. Memorials are preferred to her church, American Lutheran Church, Sun City, AZ.
