Obituary of Joan E. Nims

Nims, Joan E., age 86, of Golden Valley, passed away on Nov. 24, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Roy and Eleanor Rasmussen; brother, Robert “Bud” Rasmussen; daughter in-law, Sue Nims. She will be deeply missed by her children, Ronald, James, Mary Scheevel (Joel Erlandson), Michael (Kris), Dave (Linda), Doug (Diane); grandchildren, Heather, Angela, Kelli, Shawn, Jennifer, Marie, Kaitlin, Erik, Shelby; great grandchildren, Ella, Lily, Nickolas, Kale, Etta; her “adopted” children & grandchildren, Christy, Lyle, Brady, and Ellie Johnson; siblings, Ruth (Bill) Donahue, Lorraine (Bob) Schoen, Mike (Janice) Rasmussen, Mark “Butch” Rasmussen; many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends, along with her dear friends from Oak Knoll Lutheran Church. Visitation at church 1 hour before service. Celebration of Life 11am Friday, Dec. 5th at Oak Knoll Lutheran, 600 Hopkins Crossroads, Minnetonka ((952) 546-5433. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials to the U of M Masonic Cancer Center.
