Obituary of Fay Catherine King

Fay Catherine (Stenback) King, 61, recently of Culver MN. Died Friday August 10. Born Feb 19, 1957 to Verner & Wilma Stenback in Mpls MN. After High school Fay joined the Army Reserves, later went to tech school, then worked for Xerox until cancer forced her to quit working. Fay met her wife on Valentine's Day 2002, they married Aug 1, 2003. After spending most of her life in the Twin Cities they were able to move to their dream home in Culver, MN. Fay loved the outdoors, chocolate, bowling, camping and dogs. She was a Minnesota Master Naturalist and was able to spend her last days at home overlooking our beautiful wooded lot. Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Wilma Stenback, mother-in-law, Eleanor Waldrup; and brother-in-law Timothy King. She is survived by loving wife, Julianne King and daughter, Sarah (Nielsen) Merkel; sisters, Kirsten (Gordon) Petty, Gail Stenback, Carol (Brad Haddy) Stenback, brothers, Ralph Stenback and Grant (Lisa) Stenback; nieces, nephews and great nieces; and Gunnar the wonder dog. Funeral Friday August 24 at All God's Children Metropolitan Community Church 3100 Park Ave MPLS MN 55407, at 11:00 am, visitation 1 hour before service. Reception to follow at the church. Memorials preferred to The UMN Foundation for Cancer Research, memorials will go directly to Head & Neck cancer; and a memorial bench will be at the Sax-Zim Bog. We will miss her grace, warmth and wicked sense of humor.
