Obituary of Anthony John Fazio

Anthony "Tony" John Fazio, 85, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living. Tony was born in Hibbing, Minnesota on November 20, 1932 to John and Margaret (Danielson) Fazio. Tony served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was very proud of his service. He later embarked on a second military career with the Minnesota Army National Guard. Tony loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed his hunting trips to "The End of the Road Camp" and fishing at Rowan Lake in Ontario. He was also very involved with the VFW and was instrumental in their weekly spaghetti feed known as Luigi's Kitchen. Tony was generous to a fault and will be remembered for being an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita; his parents, John and Margaret; siblings, Joe Fazio and Mary Margaret Kuntz. Tony is survived by his children, Patrick, Susan (Kurt) Johnson, Betty (Kevin) Doherty, Anne (Chris) Jones; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with one on the way. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Keystone Bluffs, St. Luke's Hospital and Hospice as well as Dr. Timothy Kleinschmidt. A gathering of family and friends will held from 1 pm until the 2 pm memorial service on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Duluth Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VFW Post 137. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota 218-624-5200
