Obituary of Warner Wellman

Warner Wellman 86, of Brule, Wis., passed away peacefully in St Lukes Hospital in Duluth with family at his side on Oct. 26, 2016. Warner was born Dec. 3, 1929 in Superior to Phillip and Hannah Wellman. Warner retired from Conagra as Director of Milling. Warner was instrumental in engineering in the grain milling industry. He has several patents to his name while working at Conagra. He was very proud of his career in the milling industry. His most beloved place on earth was his home on the Brule River where chasing steelhead trout was his passion. He lived life to the fullest and his loving personality touched everyone that met him. Warner is preceded in death by his wife, Janice; sisters, Ruth, Ester and Alice. Warner is survived by his two sons, Dean (Pauline) Brule Wis., and Mark of Omaha Neb.; sister, Irene Slettum Waukegan, Ill.; brother, Roy Wellman, Gernee Ill.; grandchildren, Phillip Wellman and Erik Wellman; and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, his special friend, Gloria Johnson and his many other great friends. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1 p.m. Saturday Nov. 5, in Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, Wis., with a celebration of his life to follow at 3 p.m. in the Kro Bar in Brule Wis. Memorials may be sent to Hope Lutheran Church, Brule Wis.
