Obituary of Dorothy Joan Slomka Humes

Dorothy Joan Slomka Humes, 86, of Duluth, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born September 5, 1931 in Duluth to Edward and Alice Slomka. Dorothy graduated from Denfeld High School in 1948 and from St. Scholastica in 1953 with her BSN in Nursing. She married O.R. Humes Jr. in 1953 and worked at St. Mary's Hospital until 1978. She is survived by her children Barbara (Rene) Hull, Merrifield, MN, Cathleen Connalley , Whitefish, MT, Greg Humes, Duluth, MN, David (Gail) Humes, Duluth,MN, Susan (Adrian) Walt, Esko, MN, Patricia (Peter) Lovald, Hopkins, MN, Bill (Ann) Humes, Duluth, MN, Mary Housey, Duluth, MN, and Jackie Archambault, Duluth, MN; sister Marie Somin, Maryland; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 am with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN.
