Obituary of Colleen Marie Hildahl

Hildahl, Colleen Marie 55, formerly of West Fargo ND and East Grand Forks MN. After a lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis, her strong heart stopped beating Nov. 25. She was born to Patricia & Curtis Hildahl on March 17th, 1959. She graduated from West Fargo High School in 1977 after being active with the pom pon team, choir, Carolers. She graduated from NDSSS in Wahpeton ND. She was married to Don Zimmerman from 1983-2005 while living in East Grand Forks where they raised their two children. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother, was so proud of her children & loved spending time family. She worked for Grand Forks Glass and Paint & Grand Forks Park District. For 30 years she supported the Christian Children's Fund & was involved in other social causes to end hunger & poverty such as Heifer International. She moved to Minneapolis in 2008 & was active at the MS Achievement Center & The Courage Center. Colleen had a wonderful sense of humor and wit. Up until the end, she maintained that she was "as healthy as a horse except for this damn MS." She leaves a son, Andrew Zimmerman (Pullman, WA); a daughter, Amanda Zimmerman (Minneapolis, MN); two sisters, Margaret (Rob) London (Minneapolis,); Maria (Scott Jacobs) Shea (Cottage Grove,); and a brother, Clayton (Kelly) Hildahl (AZ); and her parents Patricia & Curtis Hildahl (Fargo, ND). A service will be held Tuesday, 12/2, 1:30 pm, MS Achievement Center, St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be sent to: MS Achievement Center, 2200 University Ave. W St. Paul MN 55114.
