Obituary of Phyllis Lorraine “Patt” Dow

Dow, Phyllis "Patt" Lorraine (Duggan) Was born in St. Paul, MN August 29, 1927 to Ida and Neal Duggan. She died December 10, 2014 after an illness beginning in 2012. A diploma graduate of the U of M School of Nursing and US Cadet (Nurse) Corps. She lived in AZ for 55 years, getting her Baccalaureate and Master Degrees from the U of Arizona College of Nursing while working in hospitals. She went on to teach at the U of A as a lecturer for 20 years, retiring in 1989. She received Meritorious Performance as a teaching assistant in 1969 and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau honor societies. In 1989, the AZ Nurses Assoc awarded her the "Excellence in Education" award. She was preceded in death by her chronically ill husband of 32 years, John; parents, brother, Robert A. Duggan; dear friend and companion, Raymond V. Meyer. Survived by son, John Ned Dow (Dixie) of Minnetrista, MN; daughter, Nora Ann House (Ken), Norman, OK; granddaughter, Daisy Anne Anderson (Steve); great-grandson, Tristan; great-grand daughter, Greta; cousins, Judy Cady; Teresa Creagh, Rebecca O'Driscell, Catherine Butler (Jim), Jean O'Sullivan (Noel) of Ireland and others; and special friends, Linda, John and Sue Meyer; nieces, nephews here and in Ireland. Memorial service at a later date.
