Obituary of Carole Elvene Evenson

Carole Elvene (Wick) Evenson, of Duluth, died September 1, 2018. She was born on October 1, 1932 in Superior, Wisc. to Ralph & Elvene (Dhols) Wick. Carole was a graduate of Duluth Central High School in 1950. In 1952, she was entered & won Miss Minnesota and went on to participate in Miss America 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia. She married Robert Verne Evenson on April 19, 1953 in Duluth, Minn. and went on to start up & run several franchise food businesses. She loved sailing, flowers, & spending time at their summer home on Madeline Island. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and her little brother, Ralph Carole will be greatly missed by her daughters, Michelle Clark & Camille Ginkel, of Duluth & Andrea (Malcolm) Logan of North Carolina; her sisters, Nancy Myhran, of Minneapolis, Madeline (Kay) Salo & Dianne Reasor, of Duluth; grandchildren, Whitney Clark & Skylar Clark, Lauren Kachinske, Sam Ginkel & Chase Ginkel, & Malcolm & Trent Logan; great-grandchildren Nora, Max, & Finley Kachinske & Lydia Adams; along with countless nieces & nephews. A gathering of friends & family will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12:00-4:00 at Blackwoods on the Lake, 2525 London Road in Duluth.
