Obituary of Patricia B. Spearin

Patricia B. Spearin passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, in Duluth, Minn. from her long time challenge with Parkinson's disease. Pat was born on Dec. 28, 1934, to parents Elizabeth and Russell Beckman. Her love of art and design kept her creative juices flowing. She worked in her family's business Beck's furniture, and spent many years volunteering at the Tweed museum, and the Duluth Depot. She also enjoyed skating, sewing, knitting and painting. Pat was the most loving mother, and always put her children first. She was very welcoming, and made people feel at ease. She was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. Pat is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Dennis Backlund); son Scott (Karen) Spearin; brother Dick (Margie) Beckman; grandchildren Jerry Carpenter, Zach and Ali Spearin, and niece/nephew Pam Hauglid and Kurt Beckman. Pat will be missed tremendously by all of her family and friends. The family is planning a reception for friends and family this Spring.
