Obituary of Cynthia S. MacIntosh

Of Hayward, WI passed away on the day of her savior's birth, at age 84, surrounded by her loving family at her bedside. She was born July 27, 1930 in Oconomowoc, WI. Her parents: C. Turner (Ty) and Dorothea J. (Dottie) Stone preceded her in death. After graduating from Oconomowoc High School 1948, she attended Ripon College for two years. She transferred to National College of Education in Evanston IL where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching in 1952. After college she married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. MacIntosh, on June 28, 1952 at Zion Episcopal Church in Oconomowoc. They lived in Evanston, IL immediately after their marriage and then various Midwest locations throughout her life. Cyndy and Don retired to Grindstone Lake, Hayward WI in 1991, to be in the midst of wildlife and beautiful lake area all year long. Their home sits on the shore of Grindstone Lake surrounded by deer and bird feeders that bring an abundance of wildlife. Cyndy was accomplished in many areas, working as a teacher, a bookkeeper and a homemaker. Involved in numerous organizations, she volunteered as a librarian, the hospital auxiliary, meal-on-wheels, and was very active in her Episcopal church. She was an active member of PEO Chapter DM. She was an avid reader, a NY TIMES crossword expert, a fabulous cook, a talented crafter of knitting, crewel and cross-stitching and the one you wanted on your Trivial Pursuit team. Cyndy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald; brother, C. Turner (Susan) Stone Jr. of Bailey's Harbor WI; children, Susan MacIntosh of St Paul MN, Kevin (Kristen) MacIntosh of Plymouth MN, and Mary Jo (Allen) Carrell of Shenandoah IA; 6 grandchildren, Katie, Laura, Drew, Sam, Natalie and Turner, and 3 great-grandchildren, Will & Chloe (Katie), and Henry (Drew). A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 29th at Ascension Episcopal Church in Hayward with the funeral immediately following at 2:00pm. A reception will follow the funeral in the undercroft of the church. The burial will occur at a later date at the family burial site in Oconomowoc, WI. Memorials can be sent to Ascension Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer's Association .
