Obituary of Jon C. Schlender

Schlender, Jon C. Born 5/10/1948, was carried home by our Lord on 1/2/2015 surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, dad, great brother, "favorite uncle Jon," and a special grandpa. Preceded in death by his beloved daughter Michelle, parents Joanne and Donald Schlender, grand-parents John and Linda Karau, and parent in laws Gordon and Clara Diethelm. Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Kookie, daughters Monica (Greg) Freeman and Nicky Schlender, granddaughters Lauren and Gwen Freeman, sisters Roxanne (Neil) Anderson, Jeanie (Kent) Cich, brothers; Mark (Shari) Schlender, Jamie (Kim) Schlender, Kookie's very large, supportive, and loving family as well as Jon's many loyal friends. Jon's family would like to thank the caring staff at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, especially the Frauenschuh Cancer Center. Memorial service to be held on 1/8/2015 at the Cremation Society of MN-Edina Chapel at 5:30 pm. Visitation to start at 4 pm. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
