Obituary of Elizabeth Mae Goeden

Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Goeden, 89, of Duluth, died peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospice on Sunday, January 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Northfield, Minnesota on September 19, 1925 to Emil and Phyllis (Loehner) Furth. Betty was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Morgan Park Senior Center where she spent a lot of time with her friends. Betty had a beautiful voice and sang in many choir organizations. She loved camping and traveling with her husband Ed and family members. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward; son Frederick “Ricky” Meyer; grandson Todd Michael Berg and granddaughter Tori Joe Meyer; also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. Betty is survived by her children Carol (Jim) Bolin, Barb (Tom) Latvala, Dick (Debbie) Meyer, Doug (Wendy) Meyer and Gary (Shelley) Goeden; step-children, Jerry (Mary) Goeden and Betty Ann (Ron) Ruzic; grandchildren, Jeff Berg, Ron (Laurelei) Gunsolus, Jenna (Boe) Wiitala, Thia (Kevin) Carlson. Kevin (Andrea) Meyer, Kyle Meyer, Tierney (Dan) Bagley, Brett Goeden, Adam (Annaleah) Meyer; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nick, Michael, Beren, Lorien, Chloe, Crystal, Jessie and Felisha; great-great-grandchildren, Mikala, Myia, Todd Michael, Zoey, Jay, Rhoslyn and Yeshaiah; as well as many extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospice and River Hill Assisted Living. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 pm until the 3 pm celebration of life on Friday, January 9, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN.
