Obituary of Alma G. Warlich

Warlich, Alma G. "Andy" age 86, of White Bear Lake, passed away peacefully at home on 1/6/2015 after suffering a stroke New Year's Day. Preceded in death by husband Eugene Warlich, son Jeffrey Warlich, sister Willie Oss, and brother Chuck Anderson. Andy was born in Wendell, MN and grew up in the Battle Lake Area. A graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, she married Gene in 1952. While raising their three children she was active in several civic organizations. Andy was a passionate cook and loved hosting dinner parties in their home. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and listening to MPR, and cherished the warmth of winters in their Florida home. Despite her loss of vision from macular degeneration, Andy was a prolific knitter and remained engaged with family, friends, cocktail hour and good food. She will be missed by her best feline friend, Missy, and by all those who knew and admired her dry wit, sharp mind and kind spirit. We are incredibly grateful to Team Andy - Jane, Annette, "Reeba", and Gigi - for their love, care and friendship, which allowed her to continue to live happily at home. Survived by daughters Kathy (Tom) Kromroy and Karen (Morgan) Nelson; the grandchildren she was so proud of - Andrew (Sonja), Sarah (Aaron), Anna (Scott), MK, Maren, Kelly, Alexandra and Jaime; and her beloved great grandchildren Gabe, Ali, Warren and Ingrid. A celebration of life will be held this spring. Memorials preferred to Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota or an organization of your choice.
