Obituary of Walter Szybczynski

Walter "Wally Ski" Szybczynski, 93, of Duluth, passed away peacefully Monday, April 2, 2018. Walter was born in Duluth to Joseph and Antonia on March 21, 1925. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Walter worked as an automotive technician for Metro Chrysler dealership for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church and a member of Saint Stanislaus Kostka Society for 72 years. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Walter was an avid cribbage player, participating in leagues and tournaments. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry; four sisters, Helen, Victoria, Rose, and Irene. Walter is survived by his children, Sandra (Kosta Limberios) Craven, Julie Szybczynski, Joseph (Michelle) Szybczynski, and Daniel (Sharon) Broich; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sophie Szybczynski; and nieces, Donna and Teresa. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Benedictine Chapel, 935 Kenwood Ave, Duluth.
