Obituary of Betty M. Gingles Peterson

Betty M. (Hauger) Gingles Peterson, 83, Artist, Poet, Free Spirit, founding member of the Battered Women's Coalition, crossed into the Light on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015. Born May 12, 1931 in Duluth to Christian L. and Hulda B. (Johnson) Hauger, she grew up in Kenwood and graduated Central High School in 1949. After business school, she married Ralph A. Gingles of Ashland, Wis., in 1952. In 1968 she married Ray A. Peterson of Duluth. Predeceased by parents; sister June; brother Ronald and former husbands. Beautiful, fun, creative, talented, spiritual, animal lover and loved beyond measure by daughters Christie A. Gingles; Jeanne R. Peterson; grandchildren: Evangelina, Piper and Samira. A private remembrance will be held at a later date.
