Obituary of Davis Hayes Crater

Passed away January 26, 2015 after a long, courageous struggle with cancer. Greeting him in heaven is his daughter, Robin Marie & parents, Clarence & Kitty Crater. He is survived by loving wife, Diane & son, Scott; sisters, Sue Crater Black & Louise Crater Robinson. Davis grew up in Charlotte, NC & received his BS, Masters & PhD. in Chemistry from NC State University. He was an army veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. He had a successful career at 3M, retiring after 26 years, as a technical director of the Protective Chem Division. He was a loving, strong man of integrity who cherished his family & friends. His passions were golf, gardening & woodworking. During his cancer treatment he made over 150 wooden toys for orphans overseas. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. We are so thankful that we had him in our lives. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 31, at St. Croix Valley Church, 16600 7th St. S., Lakeland, MN. Visitation starting at 12 noon with service at 1:30 PM.
