Obituary of Gilbert Leroy Anderson

April 11, 1928 ~ January 27, 2015 Age 86 Husband of Patricia, father of John Anderson (fiancée, Becky Faust), Lisa (Tom) Ostertag, Barb Hawkinson and Steve (Robert) Anderson, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, passed away at home Tuesday morning after several months battling with congestive heart failure. Gil was a 60 year resident of Farmington, MN, who sold real estate for 40 plus years and touched the lives of many people in his community. He was a past Commander of the Farmington American Legion, was a prominent member of Farmington Lutheran Church, volunteered at the local Food Shelf, and was an avid wood carver and handyman. He was preceded in death by his father, John and mother, Hilma of Starbuck, MN; sister, Ethel and brother, Harold of the Starbuck area and sister, Bernice (Walter Christensen) of the Farmington area. There will be a visitation on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Farmington Lutheran Church 20600 Akin Road, Farmington MN, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The memorial service will be on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 2:00 pm also at the Farmington Lutheran Church with a light lunch provided after the service and visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials should be made to the Farmington Lutheran Church.
