Obituary of Albert J. Marx

Albert J. Marx, 89, of Proctor passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 6, 2018. Albert was born on November 12, 1928 to Henry John Marx and Susan Theresa (Lenars) Marx in West Union, MN. Albert attended school in Sauk Center, MN. He enlisted in the Army on November 30, 1950 and deployed to Korea. He married Winnafred Gallagher on July 15, 1951 Albert was a member of the Proctor American Legion where he was the commander for 11 years. He was also a member of the Proctor Moose. Albert was an avid golfer; sat on the board of directors for the Proctor Golf Course and was active with the Junior League for many years. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Lambert, Frank and Leo Marx; sisters, Helen Bieringer , Eleanor Hengemuhle and Lorraine Rachac; and daughter, Barbara Marx. Albert is survived by his wife, Winnafred; his daughters, Linda Sundby of Schofield, WI, Beverly Patronas of Duluth, MN, Patricia Marx (Tracy French) of Maple Grove, MN, Cathleen (Erick) Keppeler of Saginaw, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. Gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, April 11th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
