Obituary of Virginia Welter

Virginia Welter died February 3, 2015 in Minong, Wisconsin. She was born and raised in Cloquet, Minnesota, and lived in her family home for 71 years. She worked for The Northwest Paper Company and also for the Cloquet Public School System. She was married to Robert Welter and they enjoyed 52 years of happy marriage and raised two children. Patricia Hurst and Freeman Welter, both of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin. Bob and Virginia moved to their summer place at Solon Springs, Wisconsin in 1980. Virginia was a 50 year member of the Cloquet Presbyterian Church and she continued her membership in the Solon Springs Presbyterian Church. she was a past President of the American Legion Auxillary in Cloquet and continued her membership in the Gordon American Legion Auxillary. (She recently became a 70 year member). She was a member of the Golden Age Club in Solon Springs. She is survived by her daughter Pat and son-in-law Dick Hurst and her son Freeman Welter. She leaves several nieces and nephews and two special nieces who were very close to her, Nancy McFarland of Houston, Texas and Ginger McPhail of Powell, Ohio. Service: 11 a.m. March 31st, in the Solon Springs Presbyterian Church with a lunch to follow in the Solon Springs Community Center.
