Obituary of Laverne Henry Lanie

Lanie, Laverne H. Age 90, long-time resident of south Minneapolis, passed away February 5, 2015, at St. Therese Care Center in New Hope. Preceded in death by wife of 65 years, Vyonne; son, Tom; brothers Don and Bernard "Tip" Lanie; and sister, Helen Behl. Survived by children, Jean (Bill) Legg, Susan (Roger) Christopherson, and Mark (Sue) Lanie; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Ed (Joyce) Lanie; sister, Madonna Sundt; and many nieces and nephews. Vern was a very special man with a kind soul, a strong work ethic, and a talent for growing beautiful flowers in his gardens. His family was his greatest joy in life and he will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 Third Avenue S., Minneapolis, on Tuesday, February 10, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at the church.
