Obituary of Anthony Owen Smith

Anthony Owen Smith, 49, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on February 16, 2015. He died of natural causes and had several serious health issues. “Tony” was born on December 20, 1965, in Las Vegas Nevada, to Duane and Roberta Smith. He was the 4th of 5 children. He was an excellent auto mechanic and assisted his friend Scott in setting up and opening a six stall transmission garage and worked there until is closed. His auto motto seemed to be “if you can break it I can fix it”, and this was his life work. Tony had many friends and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. His special longtime friends were Bruce and Lindy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Boundary Waters, watching TV, playing with computers and electronics, and best of all, his black lab Mickey. Tony enjoyed his trailer and living in the country. He had a wonderful sense of humor and shared it with all he knew. He has now gone to meet his Lord. Tony is survived by his parents Duane and Roberta; brothers, Marcus (Lynn) of Las Vegas, Claude (Patty) of France, Justin Scott; sister Susan of Duluth, many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, February 21st at 11:00 at Duluth Congregational, 3833 E. Superior St. Duluth, MN 5504, with a visitation one half hour prior.
