Obituary of Dorothy A. Rice

Rice, Dorothy A. (McGowan) Age 84, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully Feb. 28, 2015 with family by her side. Dorothy will be remembered as a sweet, simple woman who laughed easily and was famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls. Dorothy had the grace to accept the things she couldn’t change and brought her nurturing gift to many children at her in-home daycare. Preceded in death by parents, Blanche and Percy McGowan; brothers, Richard and John. Survived by children, Linda (Scott) Webb, Steve (Toni Lozano), Janet (Peter Bachman), John (Gail Kline), Kathleen, Dehanna Rice-Inkles (Cliff), Lori (John) Ohl and Robert; grandchildren, Kelly, Blair, Jesse, Tessa, Karissa, Sean and Hailey; great-grandchildren, Mya and Cora; sister, Donna Casey; sisters-in-law, Darlene and Joanne; nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of her life will be held Sat., March 28, visitation 2:30pm, service at 3:00pm, reception to follow at Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina (952-924-4100).
