Obituary of Hector Lawrence LaFrance

Hector “Oni” Lawrence LaFrance Jr., 65, of Grand Lake, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Hector was born in Duluth on August 5, 1949 to Hector Sr. and Betty (Pearson) LaFrance. He met and married his wife Terese Buerke in 1978. Oni was a heavy equipment operator and worked for various construction companies until he started his own business with his brother called Dusty Star Trucking. His favorite past time was going to various auctions through-out the year. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Sr. and Betty LaFrance and sister LeeAnn Hanson and his brother Maurice “Morry”. He leaves behind his wife Terese “Terry”; children, Lissa (Henry) Maki, Hector III, Lee, Annie and Jon Luke; grandchildren, Rosemarie, Jeannette and Anita Maki and his sister Linda (David) Sullivan. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 pm until the 3 pm memorial service on Friday, March 6, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN.
