Obituary of Elizabeth “Betsy” Piff

Elizabeth “Betsy” Piff (Nee McMillan), age 69, of Waconia, formerly of Eden Prairie and Bloomington, passed on March 12 at home with her family at bedside after a 21 month “inconvenience” of cancer. Preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Robert and Thomas and two sisters, Kathleen and Patricia. Survived by loving husband and best friend, Michael; beloved children, Nicole (Pusateri) and Daniel; adored and loved grandson, Dominic (Pusateri); two sisters, Martha Larsen and Peggy Johnson; brother, Ted (Linda) McMillan and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends who she loved very much. Oldest of eight children, educated at Holy Angels Academy in Richfield, MN. Employed for many years at Bachman’s Florists in Eden Prairie and the Lincoln Del in Bloomington. Betsy loved working in her gardens as habitats for butterflies and hummingbirds, playing bridge with wonderful friends, reading mystery novels, following politics, and devoting herself to the happiness and well being of her children and grandson. She gave joy and happiness to everyone she met. She was never judgmental, always forgiving, eternally optimistic and loved unconditionally. Memorial service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 13505 Excelsior Blvd, Minnetonka MN, with brief service at the church followed by fellowship in celebration of Betsy’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to MN Landscape Arboretum.
