Obituary of Maynard Nelson

Maynard Nelson, age 88, of Richfield, passed away on March 14, 2015. Preceded in death by brothers, Wally and Romaine. Survived by daughter, Dianna (Larry) Johnson; son, Wes (Sharon); daughter, Deb (Matt) Vossen; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Arlyss Olsen; brother, Vernon Hamberg and special friend, Lois Young. Maynard was born in Newfolden, MN. He worked for Bloomington Chrysler for 44 years, retiring just six years ago. Maynard could always be found in his garage, putting together a bike, mower or snow blower. He also enjoyed Lake Harriet concerts, bike riding, walks and playing croquet with his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Crosstown Covenant Church, 5540 30th Ave. S., MPLS. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church. Private interment, Newfolden, MN. Memorials preferred to Animal Humane Society.
