Obituary of Linda Marie Rask

Linda Marie "Red" Rask, 71, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Linda was born Oct. 7, 1943 in Duluth, Minn. to Clarence and Violet (Fisher) Rowell. She was a 1962 graduate of Denfeld High School in Duluth. Linda married Arthur Rask on Dec. 15, 1962. Linda had various jobs during her lifetime, but most recently she worked at the McDonald's in Proctor, Minn. She enjoyed her job there and loved socializing with her regular customers. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Violet. She is survived by her ex-husband and caregiver, Art "Pete" Sr., son Art Jr. (Dawn), and daughter ViAnn (Norman Opack) Rask, all of Duluth; stepfather Bill (Marge) Vanvalkenberg of Cloquet, Minn.; grandchildren Shalynn (Luke Schneider) Rask of Superior, Wis., and Alyson and Camden Rask of Duluth; great-granddaughter Lariana Schneider of Superior; sisters Jean Youngdahl and Janice Ratliff of Duluth and Shirley (Lester) Hunt of Cloquet; brothers David (Sharon) Rowell and Dennis (Dolly) Rowell of Duluth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda's family would like to thank the staff of Golden Oaks in Proctor, the staff on the 3rd floor of Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center and the ALS Association for the excellent care they provided to Linda.
