Obituary of Valerie N. Williams

Valerie N. (Jazdzewski) Williams age 78, lifelong resident of Duluth, joined her loving family Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born October 16, 1936 in Duluth to John and Katherine (Kmiech) Jazdzewski. Val was a 1955 graduate of Duluth Central High School. Val worked for Halvorson Tree Service right out of high school but retired after 42 years of service from St. Luke’s Hospital. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Val also liked watching hockey games and the Vikings. She was an avid cat lover. Val was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Florence Carlson, Eleanore DeHaan, Fran Ratajek and Caroline Ege; her brother, Lawrence “Jim” Jazdzewski; and her furry friend Dolly. She is survived by her loving husband, George Williams; her sister, Maxine Webber; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the special staff of St. Luke’s Hospice for their kind care of Val and her family. Per Val’s request, there will be no service at this time. She will be buried in St. Joesph’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Gnesen Township. Val will be remembered for her caring nature and “eating dessert first!” Arrangement entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
