Obituary of Kenneth W. Palar

Kenneth W. Palar, passed away unexpectedly, in his home Thursday, September 13th 2018. He was born May 4, 1958 to Kenneth and Judith Palar in Hastings, MN. Kenneth followed his father's footsteps and joined the military. He started in the Army, stationed in the demilitarized zone in Korea. He then went into the Army National Guard and Air National Guard in Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing, retiring in 2001 at the rank of Major. He met his ex-wife Linda Stephenson while in the Army National Guard. They married in 1982 and had 3 children. He graduated Cum Laude in 1983 from UMD with a Bachelor of Science. He worked for St. Louis County for 30 years, starting in the mail room and working up to Unit Supervisor at the time of his death. Kenneth was looking forward to retirement and his new house. He had a love of family and country. Kenneth is survived by his parents Kenneth & Judith Palar, Silver Bay, MN; sister, Pamela (Donald) Perrault, Seattle, WA; brother Daniel Palar, Duluth; son Kenneth Palar, Inver Grove Heights; daughters, Christina (Fletcher) Kiehn, Duluth, Jennifer Palar, Duluth; grandson Sullivan Kiehn; nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held Monday, September 17th from 5-7 pm and services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 18th at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
