Obituary of Jane Lenore Bossert
Bossert, Jane Lenore
Jane was born on November 4, 1924, in Minneapolis, to Raleigh and Gladys (Marie) Forrey, the youngest of three children. Jane grew up in Crystal and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1942, where she was active in Band and several clubs, including Girls Club, of which she was vice president her senior year. She worked in downtown Minneapolis and lived in a girls club during the war. On September 6, 1947, Jane married William Allen Bossert, also of Robbinsdale, whom she had known since kindergarten. She continued to work until the birth of their first child. Bill and Jane built their first home in Golden Valley, and later moved to Edina and, finally, Burnsville. She began skiing with her husband, daughter, and youngest son and continued well into her senior years. All who knew Jane knew she loved shopping at Dayton's, decorating their homes, Clark Gable, traveling, their dog, Maggie, having lunch with friends, desserts, and, most of all, her family. Jane was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church of Robbinsdale, which was later renamed Robbins- dale United Church of Christ, and she sang in the choir for over 40 years. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Jane died at 90, surrounded by her loving family, on March 19. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, who passed away on January 26; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Al Moore; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Margaret Forrey; and her brother-in-law, Paul Bossert. She is survived and greatly missed by her three children and their spouses, Kim (Sharon Bossert), Dana (Cornell Marshall), and Rex (Leigh Jones); her sister-in-law, Lois Bossert; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be held to honor Jane on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Robbinsdale United Church of Christ, 4200 Lake Road, Robbinsdale. A visitation will be held an hour before. In lieu of flowers, she requested memorial gifts to the RUCC Music Fund.
