Obituary of Arthur Sund Nelson

Arthur Sund Nelson, age 85, of Edina, MN, passed away April 10, 2015. Preceded in death by parents Arthur T. & Vahlborg Sund Nelson; wife Jacquelyn Curtis Nelson. Survived by children Tore (Beth) Nelson, Lisa and Stieg Nelson; grandchildren Abigail and Caroline Nelson; sister Carla Rohwedder, and niece Sarah Rohwedder. With much gratitude to Petra Sherwood for her love and compassionate nursing care. Born in Minneapolis, Art graduated from St Louis Park High & the U of MN law school. Practiced law in Mpls. as an independent attorney for nearly 60 yrs. With interest in serving his community, Art gave his time and expertise to many organizations: Westminster Church, Memorial Blood Center, Sister Kenny Institute, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, MN Visiting Nurses Assoc., Jaycees, YMCA. A lifelong student of learning, Art led an incredibly full and diverse life with interests ranging from sports, to ballroom dance, to astronomy, to politics, to old time jazz music. His optimistic spirit, strength of character, thoughtfulness, and warm smile will be deeply missed. Memorial service April 25 at 1:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Marquette Ave, Mpls., MN 55403, with social hour following. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
