Obituary of Donald C. Kingsley

Donald C. Kingsley, 84, of Duluth passed away peacefully at home with his family on Sunday April 19, 2015. Don was born and raised in Duluth. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1949. He served his county in the Air Force from 1951-1955. On his return home he married Betty in 1954, they were best friends and lifelong sweethearts. He was a member of Plumber's Local 11 and retired in 1992. He loved hunting was an active member at the Rush Lake Outing Club, he would spend his best moments with the guys fishing and hunting. In later years he would hunt with the Schweiger's at Lake Vermillion Trail Preserve in the retiree's deer stand, and was able to hunt until he was age 83. Don enjoyed the Portman men's coffee group every Wednesday, it was a great time to talk with his old friends and make new ones. Don enjoyed spending time with family, and always had a joke ready. He and Betty spent all their time together and enjoyed many lunch dates around town. He was preceded in death by his parents Crawford and Edna Kingsley; sister Estelle Samuelson; and brothers Roland and Loren Kingsley. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betty; daughters Linda Ferguson, Barbara White, Patty (Gerald) Powers, Sue (Jeanette) Kingsley, and son John (Patty) Kingsley. He adored his nine grandchildren, Mike, Dan, Angie, Julie, Liz, Heather, Tiffany, Kara, and Lea, and great-grandsons Dayne and Mason.
