Obituary of David P. Dorman

David P. Dorman, 76, of Duluth, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 20, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. David was born in Deer River, Minnesota on February 21, 1939 to Clyde and Elsie (Yern) Dorman. After school he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After returning to Duluth, David was employed with Hedenberg Construction for many years. During this time he also served with the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department. David was an outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time working in his yard. He had a quiet, friendly demeanor and knew everyone. He will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his wife Monica Dorman; his father; brothers Larry and Ray and sister Rose. David is survived by his significant other Ethel Koski; daughters, Susan Lee and Chris Dorman; grandchildren, Amber, Zach and Hanna Dorman, Alexie, Courtney, Shelby and Tegan Lee; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Edith Happy and Dorothy Stowell; son-in-law Daniel Lee as well as many extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance for the many calls and David’s doctors at St. Luke’s and Miller Dwan. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 pm until the 3 pm memorial service on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Animal Allies. Military Honors will be provided by the Duluth Honor Guard. Cremation Society of Minnesota 218-624-5200
