Obituary of Susan K. Juhl
Susan K. Juhl (Jurkovski), 64, passed away April 23, 2015 at Fairview University Hospital from heart complications. She was born July 17, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Robert and Marcia (Gregor) Jurkovski. Susan graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1968. She was an accomplished speed skater and was invited at the time to the U.S. Olympic Trials in West Allis, WI. She always said her favorite class in school was gym, a lover of all sports. She met her loving husband Douglas H. Juhl at RHS, married in 1970, and celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage before his passing recently on March 18, 2015 at age 64. They settled down initially to build their small family in what she referred to as their "Camelot" in Lonsdale, MN. Susan dedicated her life to her loving husband and two children. She enjoyed training and showing dogs, photography, music, camping, fishing, playing softball, cruising on the Harley Davidson and spending time with family and friends. After living in Michigan and Iowa, they had recently returned to their home state of Minnesota. A lover of animals, she had a particular passion for protecting wolf populations and education. Susan is survived by her son Timothy (Diana) Juhl, her daughter Colleen (Robert) Johnson and her granddaughter Avianna, her brother Jerry (Karen) Jurkovski, and blessed with nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous loving family and friends. Susan’s memorial gathering will be held 6-9 PM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina. "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much".
