Obituary of Barbara Ann Moore

Barbara Ann Moore, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away in the late evening hours of April 13, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Superior WI to parents Edmund A. and Victoria B. (Kurkoski) Novack and graduated from Cathedral High School in the class of 1952. Barbara married James N. Moore on March 14, 1955 and they recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. Prior to starting their family, she was a secretary/clerk at Great Lakes Storage on Connor's Point in Superior. As their family grew they moved to the country and became longtime South Range residents. Mom's top priority was always family and when her "boys" came along she took on the role of "World's Greatest Mom" and became both an award winning cook and award winning baker. While her boys were attending Washington School, mom became involved in the South Range community, school function's, P.T.A., Homemakers Club, was a 4-H Leader and exhibitor at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. She enjoyed teaching kids and helping them build and display their fair projects. Always proud of their efforts, she received immense satisfaction seeing their excitement and joy when winning awards, ribbons, money and recognition for a job well done. She watched many kids prosper and grow into young adults, making lifelong friends along the way. As her boys grew and her "girls" finally came along, being a grandmother rejuvenated her and her love for her granddaughters was beyond words. She never missed a school function or special occasion and weekends at grandma's were an exciting adventure of fun, hugs and kisses, excellent food, never ending deserts, a "goodie bag" to take home and love and memories to last a lifetime. The tears come easy because she was loved, treasured and cherished by so many people. My Mother When thou art feeble, old and gray, My healthy arm shall be thy stay, And I will soothe thy pains away, My Mother And when I see thee hang thy head, Twill be my turn to watch the bed, And tears of sweet affection shed, My Mother Leaving before her were three sons, James E., Joseph R. and Jack W.; two great-grandsons, Dillon and Logan Zembo; her parents, Edmund Anthony and Victoria Barbara Novack; sister, Delores J. (James) Farmer; brother, Anthony J. Novack; nephew, Edward Savela; her in-laws, Claude and Ruth Moore; and sister-in-law, Claudette R. (William) Wahto.
