Obituary of Randall A. Jackson
Randall "Randy" A. Jackson, 69, of Duluth, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Essentia Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 11, 1945 in Duluth, to Albert and Elsie Jackson.
The majority of his life was spent in Duluth, growing up in Munger. Randy was a 1964 graduate of Sibley High School, St. Paul. On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Rosemary Ostrowski.
Randy worked at Diamond Tool over 20 years, where he made lifelong friendships. He was also a longtime member of PATH (Profession Association of Treatment Homes) since 1979. After his career at Diamond he focused his time as a foster father guiding troubled adolescence. He became a mentor and father figure to these children, giving them morals and values to live as responsible adults in the community. Also, in his "spare" time, Randy worked for Trillion with young adults to help them become successful in the workforce.
His passion for classic cars brought him great joy. He was an active member of the Duluth MSRS and made many lifelong friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; and older siblings, Betty Lou Skillings and Lloyd Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary J.; his daughter, Lisa (Kurt) Stroschein and son, Bryan Jackson; two granddaughters, Madison and Jadynn Rose; extended family members, Lance 1, Lance 2, Brandon, Christopher and Dalton.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rich and the nursing staff at Essentia Medical Center Coronary ICU for their continual support and compassion to his wife and children, in his final journey.
