Obituary of Jane L. Massmann

Massmann, Jane L. Age 84, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 18, 2015 in her home in Golden Valley. Beloved mother and grandmother was born November 4, 1930 in Hillsdale, Michigan. She was an artist and musician who attended Western Michigan University. Her artistic endeavors included symphony musician, string quartet member, published illustrator, painter, and violin and viola teacher to numerous students throughout her life. She will always be remembered by her great sense of humor, generosity and spunky spirit. The most important passion in her life was family. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Richard Massmann and son, Mark Massmann. She is survived by children Pamela and Kim Massmann, Wendy Sweeney (Joseph), Jonathan Massmann (Rebecca), and daugh-ter-in-law Karolyn Massmann. Also survived by sister Judy Alcock, brother Thomas Hill (Josie), and sister-in-law Carol Greenhagen. She adored her seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, and Katie Sweeney, Jonathan and Aubrey Massmann, and Gabriel and Madeline Massmann. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews and caregiver and friend, Rhianna Brodin and son Georgio. A celebration of her life will occur on Saturday, June 6th at 5:00 pm, Plymouth Congregational Church, Guild Hall, 1900 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis, MN. Memorials preferred to Jane's favorite charities, either the National Ataxia Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
