Josephine Lapore

Obituary of Josephine Lapore

A Generous Soul After a full 93 years of life, our dear mother passed away peacefully, at the Marian Center on June 2nd where she contentedly resided for the past 7 yrs. She left us with many important life lessons. For 25 years she was a waitress in the Executive Dining Room at 3M, but she found her true calling after her retirement as a tireless volunteer, touching many lives and receiving great personal satisfaction. We'll fondly remember her generosity, love of family, feistiness, lively sense of humor and passion for preparing and serving great food. Preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Lawrence and her 4 sisters, Sylvia Pizzi, Margaret “Muggs” McQuade, Bobbie Dinzeo & Dee Absey. She is survived by her daughters, Laurie & Julie Lapore; grandson, Henry Moskowitz; sister, Mels Sockness; brothers-in-law, Bob Lepora (Carole) and Jack Absey; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Jo's family is grateful to the staff at the Marian Center for the loving care and kindness she received while happily living her last years there. To all her caregivers, thank you. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life & spirit will be held at the Marian Center Chapel, 200 Earl St. on Saturday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Private Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred in Jo's honor to Kaposia Center, 223 Little Canada Rd. E., Suite 100, Little Canada, MN 55117.
