Obituary of Wanda Theresa Facciotto

Wanda Theresa Facciotto, 66, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at Viewcrest Health Center on May 17, 2022. Wanda was born in Duluth on February 11, 1956 to Rudolph and Alba Facciotto. Wanda graduated from East High School and then went on to work at Goodwill, Pinewood and UDAC until her retirement in July of 2019.

Throughout the difficult challenges of her life, Wanda maintained a gentle heart and loving spirit. She treasured spending time with family and friends and was always so generous with her hugs and kisses. Most of all she loved her best friend and companion of 40 plus years, Don Curry. Together they found joy in the simple pleasures of life; bowling, listening to music, watching movies, going to dinner dances and many of the activities at ARC Northland and the DRCC. Wanda also loved beading, coloring, Elvis and shopping.

Wanda was cared for by so many wonderful people in her lifetime, we are forever grateful to the many incredible and loving caretakers, past and present. The most recent being Trillium Services, Viewcrest Health Center and Essentia ~ St. Mary’s Hospice. Words could never adequately express our appreciation.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.

Wanda is survived by her companion Don Curry, brothers, Maurice (Connie) of Alexandria and John of Duluth, sister Barbara (James) Koberstein of Duluth and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda was loved by all of us and was a great teacher of gratitude and humility. She will be dearly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 26th at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 1419 St Benedict St, in Duluth.

Inurnment will be held at the Polish Catholic Cemetery.
