Obituary of Rosella Jean Bloemendaal
I am home in heaven, dear ones.
Oh! So happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty.
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief are over
Every restless yearning past
I am now at peace forever
Safely home at last.

Rosella Jean Bloemendaal (Eernisse) passed away on October 9 after four precious weeks in hospice care. She was constantly surrounded by family and friends and love.
She was born on July 20, 1929 in Leota, MN. She married Peter Bloemendaal on June 17, 1947. They were together until Peter passed away in March of 2006.
Together they had 8 children Keith, Eugene, Loraine, Paul, Doris, David, Theresa and Lois and blessed beyond measure with 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren (and at least one more on the way!) and 1 great-great grandchild. Mom was so proud of this legacy and told everyone she met about the ever-growing number of Bloemendaal family members!
Mom was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; one son, Paul; three beloved grandchildren Chad Bloemendaal (Paul), Amy Hoogheem (Loraine) and Madeline Hegland (Lois); and two great-grand children Theodorus and John Jr. (John Cameron)
Our mother was a hard working woman. She was responsible for much of the work on the farm - which she did not like - but she enjoyed greatly working at The Leader Café in Edgerton. This is where her love for talking to and serving others shone through.
We have fond memories of her cooking and baking – for us and for others. Hospitability was a passion for mom. She never missed a birthday or anniversary, or graduation and you could always count on a card in the mail with the signature two dollar bill enclosed. Those acknowledgements and tokens of love were important to her.
She was a strong woman of faith who prayed for her family every day. Even when she was weak and beginning to fail, she would ask for her Bible and book of devotions. Her relationship with her Lord was something that brought her great comfort and peace. It sustained her until the end.
In her final weeks we were blessed to listen to stories of how mom inspired and touched the lives of those who called her “friend.” Our hearts are broken but we are confident in her destiny. And yes mom, you always wondered, but we WILL miss you when you’re gone! We hope you are enjoying your new home and your new body.
With our love and respect,
