Obituary of Ruth Ann Blanchard
Ruth Ann Blanchard, 75, passed away peacefully July 26th, 2020, surrounded by family. She grew up in New London, MN, as the youngest of five. She was an amazing mother of three children and a loving wife of 49 years. She adored being a Grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed going to all their sporting events and school programs. Ruth was known by friends and family to be the ultimate hostess and loved to make new and interesting appetizers! She was happiest when she was making others happy and was loved by everyone. Ruth was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain friends and relatives in her home, the more the better. If you were in her home, you were considered family. Ruth was a carpool mom and considered a second mom to many. A favorite of Ruth’s was “Bunco night” with the babes. A dice game with friends full of fun, food and drinks. Not always in that order. Ruth had a great sense of humor, liked to get dolled up and look fancy and was never afraid of a party or a good time. Over the past year, Ruth fought through numerous health issues and faced each one bravely with a strength that amazed her family. Ruth is survived by her husband, Duane, daughter Michele (David) Snyder and two sons, John (Brenda) and James. You can always pay tribute to Ruth by doing a shot of “Fireball”, it was her favorite party drink. A memorial Service will be held at the Edina Cremation Society, at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Sep 12th. The service will be limited to family. However, a live stream will be available at https://zoom.us/j/99146946647 . Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association in honor of Ruth.
