Obituary of Mandeline Kay Lenhardt
On May 30th, Mandeline “Mandy” Kay (Maietta) Lenhardt, beautiful, loving, and talented mother, daughter and sister, entered into Heaven the way she lived her life; with courage, grace, and a sense of humor.
Mandy was born on April 3, 1976 in Bismarck, North Dakota and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Shanley High School and then attended the University of St. Thomas. Mandy was a ray of sunshine from the beginning and was always by the side of her sister, brother, and cousins. She was always a mother to all of the younger children around her, and it was her dream to have a big family of her own. With her everlasting smile, giving nature, and love for music, Mandy touched many lives and brought happiness to all those who knew her.
Mandy’s career included performances with a wide variety of talented musicians. She was a member of popular bands like Pop ROCKS and World According to Garth. She sang the national anthem for the Twins, the Wild, and Nascar events. Mandy was one of the performers for the annual Holiday Lights Christmas CD. Her most recent collaborations in the recording studio were with her good friend, Tim Mahoney. Mandy always looked forward to sharing her love of music with her loved ones, and could often be found at her piano singing along with family.
The greatest love of Mandy’s life were her four amazing children. Survived by the father of their children Robert Maietta, Dominic (22), Lauren (20), Dante (17), and Lilly (10). Mandy was a loving warrior mother, who showed incredible courage and strength in her long battle with an autoimmune illness, never ceasing to put the needs of her children first.
Mandy leaves behind her immediate family; parents Rudy and Sue Lenhardt, her sister and brother in law Michelle Lenhardt Lequeux and Roberto Lequeux, her brother and sister in law Mark and Katie Lenhardt with nieces Grace and Adeline, 16 Aunts and Uncles, and 34 Cousins. Preceded in death by maternal Grandparents Loretta Hiestand and Alfred Walters, paternal Grandparents Florence Lenhardt and Louis Lenhardt, and Aunts Peggy Walters Mary Lenhardt Hennum and Patricia Lenhardt.
Mandy will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family and friends. She will never be forgotten. Mandy was that rare special kind of person one could only hope to meet once in a lifetime. She was taken from us way too soon.
A prayer service for Mandy will be held at St. Odilia Catholic Church on Thursday June 11th at 11:00 AM. Due to the pandemic the service will be limited to family. Mandy’s Celebration of Life will be held in late summer when it is safer to gather in her memory.
