Obituary of Rosemary Alice Kumhera
Rosemary Alice Kumhera – age 87, formerly of Fridley Minnesota passed away peacefully on May 30th 2020 after a long battle with Dementia.
She was born in Denver Colorado on February 1st 1933 and moved to Minnesota at a young age with her family. She later joined the Convent in Rochester MN where she met her future husband Paul who was engaged in his seminary studies.
They both realized that they were destined for a life together. They fell in love, got married and briefly moved to Ada Minnesota where her husband pursued a position as a History and Latin teacher. They then moved to Fridley where Rosemary lived for 48 years.
Rosemary’s passions consisted of gardening, sewing, crocheting, quilting, reading and watching Netflix.
She is preceded in death by husband Paul, parents Alice (Walter) Epple, step father Martin Botten and her sister Virginia (brother in law Marvin) Liebl.
Rosemary is survived by her children Mary Kumhera, Helen Kumhera (Paul Coy), siblings Charlie (Gladys) Epple, Bob Botten, Catherine (Louis) Deszeran and many nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony Health Care Center and are forever grateful for the care that Rosemary received.
A service will be held on June 11th 2020 at 12:30 PM at First Memorial Waterston Chapel - 4343 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis MN 55409.There will be a short visitation at 12 PM noon prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Cemetery – 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis MN 55408.
Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota.
Due to Covid-19, social distancing and masks are recommended but not required.
