Obituary of William Oscar Grissam
Grissam, William Oscar age 63, of Brooklyn Center, MN. Sunrise 4/10/56 – Sunset 2/16/20. Billy gained his wings after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by his loving family. Proceeded in death by his parents Roland & Jeanne Grissam; goddaughter “Mookie”; brother Melvin and his beloved dog Drake. He will be FOREVER missed by his wife of 40 years Nina; daughter Khalidi-Soldado; sons, Avery (Stacy), William Jr., Marcus (Amy); brothers, James (Jeanne), Jeffrey (Cherise), Brandon, Harold (Renee) and Donald; sister Rose (John), and 2nd Momma Dorothy; grandchildren, NaShaiyla, Santana, Malcolm, Amaya, Sinea, Myana and baby Roland; great grandchildren, Brandon Jr, Nina and Navi. Many nieces, nephews, and a ton of extended kids, family and friends. Billy was born and raised in Mpls. where he attended Folwell, South High and WOC (Work Opportunity Center). He followed his father’s footsteps into auto body work/painting and worked in the auto industry for 40 years. Billy’s Celebration of Life service to be held on Saturday, February 29; visitation at 11:00, service at 1:00 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Bryant Avenue North, Mpls. 55411
